چکیده

Abstract X-rays and extreme ultraviolet (EUV) emissions from solar flares rapidly change the physical composition of Earth’s thermosphere ionosphere, thereby causing space weather phenomena such as communication failures. Numerous empirical models have been developed to estimate effects flare on upper atmosphere. We verified reproduction emission spectra using a one-dimensional hydrodynamic calculation CHIANTI atomic database. To validate proposed model, we used observed EUV obtained by Extreme variability experiment (EVE) board Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO). examined “EUV time-integrated irradiance” line rise time” for 21 events comparing results model spectral data. The successfully reproduced irradiance Fe VIII 131 Å, XVIII 94 XX133 well 55–355 Å 55–135 bands. For time, there was an acceptable correlation between estimations observations all lines. These demonstrate that can reproduce emitting plasma with relatively high formation temperature. This indicates physics-based is effective accurate irradiance.

Emission lines of Fe X in active region spectra obtained with the Solar Extreme - ultraviolet Research Telescope and Spectrograph

Fully relativistic calculations of radiative rates and electron impact excitation cross sections for Fex are used to derive theoretical emission-line ratios involving transitions in the 174–366Å wavelength range. A comparison of these with solar active region observations obtained during the 1989 and 1995 flights of the Solar Extreme-ultraviolet Research Telescope and Spectrograph (SERTS) revea...

Electron-Electron Bremsstrahlung Emission and the Inference of Electron Flux Spectra in Solar Flares

Although both electron-ion and electron-electron bremsstrahlung contribute to the hard Xray emission from solar flares, the latter is normally ignored. Such an omission is not justified at electron (and photon) energies above ∼ 300 keV, and inclusion of the additional electron-electron bremsstrahlung in general makes the electron spectrum required to produce a given hard X-ray spectrum steeper ...

Fe XIII emission lines in active region spectra obtained with the Solar Extreme - Ultraviolet Research Telescope and Spectrograph

Recent fully relativistic calculations of radiative rates and electron impact excitation cross sections for Fexiii are used to generate emission-line ratios involving 3s3p– 3s3p and 3s3p–3s3p3d transitions in the 170–225Å and 235–450Å wavelength ranges covered by the Solar Extreme-Ultraviolet Research Telescope and Spectrograph (SERTS). A comparison of these line ratios with SERTS active region...

The Solar Extreme Ultraviolet Monitor for MAVEN

The Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) monitor is an instrument on the NASA Mars Atmosphere and Volatile EvolutioN (MAVEN) mission, designed to measure the variability of the solar soft x-rays and EUV irradiance at Mars. The solar output in this wavelength range is a primary energy input to the Mars atmosphere and a driver for the processes leading to atmospheric escape. The MAVEN EUV monitor consists o...

Extreme Ultraviolet Emission from Neutron Stars

We summarize the detections of extreme ultraviolet (EUV) emission from neutron stars. Three rm detections have been made of spin-powered pulsars: the aged millisecond pulsar PSR J0437?4715, the middle-aged X-ray pulsar Geminga, and the radio pulsar PSR B0656+14. These observations allow us to evaluate both power-law and thermal-law emission models as the source of the EUV ux. For the case of PS...
